Local-first by design: GS1Barcode is a professional GS1 / UDI barcode scanning, parsing, debugging, and field verification tool. The current release does not require an account, does not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not upload scan data to developer servers.

1. Data We Collect

In the current release, GS1Barcode does not collect personal data or scan data from your device. This includes:

No account profile, name, phone number, or physical address collection.
No upload of barcode payloads, parsed GS1 fields, UDI data, batch records, notes, or history.
No advertising identifiers, IDFA, ATT tracking, or cross-app tracking.
No third-party analytics, third-party crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.

The app's current privacy behavior is intended to align with Data Not Collected in App Store privacy labeling.

2. Local Processing and Storage

Core barcode scanning and parsing are processed on device. The app may store the following information locally inside the app container:

Scan history, including raw barcode content, parsed fields, status, favorites, batch review state, and user notes.
App settings, including language, theme, scanning preferences, privacy mode, export preferences, and local signature settings.
Files that you choose to export, such as text, CSV, or JSON output.

You can clear local history inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes app-container data from the device. Files that you have exported or shared outside the app must be deleted from those destinations separately.

3. Permissions

GS1Barcode requests only permissions needed for user-triggered features:

Camera: used for local real-time GS1 / UDI barcode scanning and parsing.
User-selected photos: barcode image import uses Apple's PHPicker. The app processes only the image you choose and does not request full photo library access.
Clipboard write: used only when you choose to copy barcode content, parsed fields, or debugging text.
File export and sharing: used only when you choose to export or share text, CSV, or JSON files.

4. Data Sharing

GS1Barcode does not automatically send barcode data, camera frames, selected photos, history records, or settings to developer servers or third-party services.

Data may leave the app only when you explicitly choose to share, copy, export, or save it using iOS system features such as Share Sheet, Files, or clipboard. After you share data with another app or service, that destination's own privacy policy applies.

5. Tracking, Analytics, and Advertising

The current release does not use IDFA, ATT, advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or third-party crash reporting SDKs. Local diagnostic logging is not uploaded to a cloud service.

6. Children's Privacy

GS1Barcode is a professional tool for supply chain, warehouse, medical device UDI workflows, quality checks, and barcode engineering. It is not directed to children under 13.

7. Policy Updates

If the app's privacy behavior changes in future releases, this page will be updated with a new effective date. If future features add accounts, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or server upload, the App Store privacy label and this policy will be updated accordingly.
