Welcome to SatsClock ("the App"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding your information.
1. We Collect No Data
SatsClock is a privacy-first Bitcoin dashboard. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal information, usage data, or device information.
- No Accounts: You do not need to register or log in to use any features of the App.
- No Trackers: We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs or user behavior tracking services.
- No Ads: The App contains no advertising and does not serve ads from any third-party networks.
- Local Processing: All data display and calculations are performed locally on your device.
2. Network Requests
The App fetches public Bitcoin blockchain data from the following third-party APIs:
- Mempool.space API: Real-time blockchain data (block height, fees, halving progress)
- Binance API: Current Bitcoin market price
Important: These API requests are anonymous. No personal identifiers, device information, or usage patterns are transmitted. The App only reads public blockchain data.
3. Data Storage
The App stores minimal user preference data on your device solely to enhance your user experience:
- Theme Selection: Your preferred color theme and effect settings
- Language Preference: Selected interface language (8 languages supported)
- Display Settings: Refresh interval, screen-on preference, quote display settings
- Cache Data: Temporarily cached blockchain data to reduce network requests
All data is stored locally via iOS UserDefaults and is never transmitted to any server.
4. App Groups and Data Sharing
The App uses iOS App Groups to enable widget functionality:
- Purpose: Share blockchain data with iOS widgets and Apple Watch complications
- Storage: Data is stored in the shared UserDefaults container on your device
- No Cloud Sync: Data is never uploaded to any cloud service or third-party server
5. Watch App Connectivity
If you use the Apple Watch app, the following data sharing occurs via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework:
- iPhone → Watch: Bitcoin price, block height, fee rates, theme settings, and localized strings
- Storage: All data is stored locally on your Watch device
- Privacy: No data is transmitted to any external server. All communication stays on your local devices.
6. Permissions
The App does not require any special system permissions (such as Camera, Location, Microphone, Contacts, Photos, etc.) to function. The App only uses:
- Internet Access: To fetch public blockchain data (anonymous requests)
- Local Notifications: Optional (only if you enable widget timeline updates)
7. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information, there is no collection or processing of children's privacy data.
8. Data Source
Bitcoin data displayed in the App is obtained from:
- Mempool.space: Open-source Bitcoin blockchain explorer (https://mempool.space)
- Binance: Cryptocurrency exchange API for price data
We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of data from these third-party sources.
9. Changes to This Policy
Although significant changes are unlikely given our privacy-first design, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
10. Your Rights
Since we collect no data, there is no personal data for you to request access to, modify, or delete. All data stored on your device can be cleared by:
- Uninstalling the App (clears all local data)
- Going to Settings → Apps → SatsClock → Reset Settings in the App
