🔒 Winmail.dat Opener is designed with privacy as its core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit your email content or attachments. All file processing is performed 100% locally on your device.
1. Information Collection
Winmail.dat Opener does NOT collect any of the following:
- Email contents or subjects
- Attachment files
- Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or usage statistics
2. Local Data Processing
The core functionality of this app (opening winmail.dat, msg, and xps files) is executed entirely on your iOS device using local code.
How your files are handled:
- Parsing: TNEF and OLE parsing happens in the device's RAM.
- Temporary Storage: When you open a file, it is temporarily copied to the app's secure sandbox for viewing.
- History: If you enable the History feature, files are stored locally in the app's private document folder. You can clear this at any time.
No file is ever uploaded to a cloud server for processing.
3. Network Access
Winmail.dat Opener does not require internet access for its core functionality.
- Parsing and rendering are offline operations.
- The app does not communicate with any analytics servers.
4. Permissions
We respect your device security and only request necessary permissions:
- File Access: Strictly limited to the files you explicitly choose to open with the app via the "Share" sheet or File Picker.
5. Data Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Clear History: You can swipe left on any file in the History list to delete it permanently from the device.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all associated local data and history immediately.
