Cookie Lens Privacy Policy

Cookie Lens is a Safari extension for viewing, editing, deleting, importing, and exporting cookies that are accessible for the current Safari site. The current release is designed for local processing and does not upload cookie data to developer-operated servers.

Effective Date: July 2, 2026 Bundle ID: com.zzd.safaricookieeditor

Local by design: Cookie names, values, domains, paths, expiration dates, Secure flags, and SameSite values are handled on device inside the Safari extension context. The app does not create an account, does not sync to cloud services, and does not operate a server for collecting your cookie data.

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect developer-accessible personal data through Cookie Lens in the current release.

When you use the Safari extension, the app may temporarily process the following data on your device:

2. Data We Do Not Collect, Store, or Upload

3. Local Processing and Storage

Cookie Lens processes cookies in the Safari Web Extension popup for the current site where you opened the extension. Native app screens provide setup guidance, privacy information, language settings, theme settings, and help content; they do not directly read Safari cookies.

Cookie JSON files that you import are parsed and validated locally, then written to the current site when Safari allows it. The imported file contents are not saved separately by Cookie Lens after processing.

When you export JSON or copy a Cookie Header string, the resulting file or clipboard content is managed by you and by iOS. Exported files and clipboard content may contain login sessions or other sensitive information. Please store and share them carefully.

Processing
On-device Safari extension processing for the current site.
Account
No account registration is required.
Cloud Sync
No developer-operated cloud sync is used.
Preferences
Non-sensitive preferences may be stored in UserDefaults on device.

4. Safari Extension Permissions

Cookie Lens uses Safari Web Extension permissions such as cookies, active tab, tabs, and HTTP/HTTPS site access so that you can manage cookies for the site where you open the extension. Site access is controlled by Safari and by your site permission choices.

Some cookies may be unavailable or not editable because of Safari, WebKit, HttpOnly, security, or site-specific restrictions. Cookie Lens does not attempt to bypass those restrictions.

5. Third-Party SDKs and Tracking

The current release does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, login SDKs, payment SDKs, or remote cloud services. The app does not track you across apps or websites.

6. Your Choices

7. Children's Privacy

Cookie Lens is a developer utility and is not directed to children under 13.

8. Policy Updates

If privacy behavior changes in a future release, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Material changes such as adding a server, account system, analytics, advertising, cloud sync, or third-party SDKs would require a new privacy review.

9. Contact
